It was inevitable.  I knew this would come sooner or later.  And now it has.
Invitation is now open for shoppers to enrol in the Gap Membership.  For avid Gap shoppers, this is really a dream come true, because being a Gap member entitles you to cool membership privileges such as:

• 10% discount¹
• Special welcome promotion e-vouchers²
  • 20% discount
  • RM30 off any pair of jeans
• Enjoy seasonal members-only promotions
• Receive exclusive invites to Gap events
• Be the first to know the latest Gap news and updates
• Enjoy a special RM50 birthday e-voucher³

So how exactly does someone become a member of the Gap?  There are several methods:

• Spend a minimum of RM700 in a single receipt to qualify instantly as a member.
• Accumulate total purchases worth RM700 within 6 months
• Special registration offer: Spend a minimum of only RM300 in a single receipt.  This option, however, is valid only from January 24 till February 3 2008 (3 more days to take advantage of this!)  In addition, if you sign up for the special registration offer at the following stores on the following dates, a RM30 voucher will be presented to you!
  • Gap KLCC – 25 January 08
  • Gap 1 Utama – 26 January 08
  • Gap Queensbay Mall, Penang - 2 February 08

One major concern that I have with these shopping memberships is that it would mean an additional card in my purse.  However with the Gap membership, I need not worry, because being a member means just having a 10-digit PIN handy, which I just need to inform the salesperson of whenever I make a purchase.  The 10-digit PIN, in this case, is my cellphone number, so that’s definitely a number I will remember!

Oh, and you don’t even need to be at the GAP to register, that is if you choose the option to accumulate your purchases.  You can register online!  In fact, I just did.  By the way, the registration form somehow does not work with the Internet Explorer browser.  It worked all right when I used Mozilla Firefox.

1. Applicable only for purchase of regular priced items. Not valid with promotional or discounted items.
2. Valid within the first 2 months of the membership. E-vouchers are limited to a one-time use and applicable only to regular priced items.
3. Valid for a one-time use only within the birthday month.
