Silver is the key

I have always had a penchant for silver jewellery. Somehow, silver appeals more to me than yellow gold. Of course, I prefer white gold and platinum any day, but that’s another story altogether.

Anyway, I am currently in an accesorizing mood, and given the fact that we ought to be thrifty whenever possible, I’d go silver in a heartbeat. Besides, just looking at the pretty Silver Jewellery at Key Silver is enough to make me drool.

I adore intricate pieces of jewellery, which are not loud, but yet convey a message of charm and sophistication, and I found tons of these at Key Silver. I was immediately taken by this charming bangle with a pink stone. Pink is not exactly my color of choice, but there was something about this bangle that made me take a second glance. It was girly and yet mysterious in a way. I would so love it if there were other stone colors available for this bangle too though.

There were also plenty of bracelets and pendants that caught my eye, but since I prefer the latter, I headed straight for the Silver Pendants section, where I found this gorgeous black spinel heart pendant. In fact, if you own one of those plain Silver Bracelets, this pendant can also be converted into a bracelet, but just attaching the pendant to it. So that’s more mileage for your pendant.

I look forward to seeing a more varied selection of silver jewellery on Key Silver in the near future. I know that they deliver free of charge within UK, but it would also be good if the site could provide more information about worldwide ordering and shipping.

Uniting all shopaholics!

I’m very easily tempted by pretty clothes…more so if those clothes are reasonably priced. But these days, sometimes it is rather difficult to shop for clothes properly while out shopping in the malls, what with a mega-active toddler keeping me on my toes the whole time.

Thus it was with glee that I discovered the Shopaholics Unite! website. How aptly named, I thought…Upon browsing through several blogposts, I couldn’t believe how affordably priced the apparel and accessories were! For example, the recent post raved about gladiator-styled sandals, which I think look really cool! In our hot and humid tropical weather, these sandals are the perfect solution for us girls who want to look cool, but cannot stand being in knee-high boots.

In fact, I would gladly buy myself a pair, if I didn’t have the phobia of “What if the shoe doesn’t fit?” But I would certainly love to stop by the Shopaholics Unite! shopping parties at Plaza Damas if I am ever within the vicinity. Anyone ever been there before?

Toys to be cherished

Kids these days have all the fun. There are endless programs on TV to cater for their every facet of development, and as for toys, I can’t even begin to detail all the options that are available. There are educational toys like flashcards and word puzzles, wooden toys which I personally love (especially if they are handmade with love) and then there are also adorable soft toys that baby can hug to sleep. Stuffed Animals that are so cute and cuddly, even I cannot resist holding and hugging them. Check out this very snuggly bashful puppy from Jelly Cat:

Isn’t he totally irresistible?

Well, apart from the cute factor, children’s toys need to be certified safe too, something that Jellycat have placed the utmost priority in. Every baby, toddler and kid will love their Jellycat buddy to bits. And if you need any more ideas for children’s toys, do pay a visit to MonkeyBean Toys, a specialty store for toys designed with the child and family in mind. Just visiting or shopping at the store is bound to put a big grin on your face!

Who wants a $100 Gift Certificate for a swimsuit?

Shopping for a swimsuit can be an absolute nightmare for most women. Okay…..maybe for me, some of the time. I love swimsuits that flatter my whole figure - who doesn’t? And sometimes when I find one swimsuit that fits absolutely perfect, it comes in garrish awful colors that just don’t suit me. So I end up with nothing.

But now, thanks to Land’s End, everyone can have a swimsuit custom-made to suit them. Something like a custom-made computer, I would say….only take the stuff you want and omit the rest. Haha. What’s more…from now till May 15 2008, My Lil Venture is running a very attractive contest, where the winner will win a $100 gift certificate from Land’s End, entitling the bearer to a customized swimsuit, all ready for summer!

I know I could definitely do with a new bikini or tankini… or both! When it comes to swimwear, my motto is “The more the merrier!” Furthermore, the tankini that I own now is a black one, but I spotted some really gorgeous ocean blue ones at Land’s End, which I know will look good on me! If I had the choice, I would like a pretty blue halter neck tankini to match Ethan’s swimming trunks! Won’t we look just stunning together!  Hehe…

So what are you waiting for? Go on and try your luck in this contest… I have, and I know I am keeping my toes and fingers crossed! :)

A photobook of memories

Remember the photobooks I created for my boy Ethan a few months ago? I still love looking at the photobook, and of course, I love showing it to relatives and friends.

Photobook has recently released the MyPhotobooks Editor 2.4.0, the latest version of the free downloadable Templateexpert Photobook Software that will allow you to create masterpieces with ease and simplicity. The new MyPhotobooks Editor 2.4.0 promises faster and more robust performance, with more layouts and templates to choose from.

When I had my photobooks made, I was charged for shipping but now I am pleased to note that Photobook Malaysia is shipping for FREE to destinations in Malaysia and Singapore. This just MIGHT be the inspiration I need to start on my next photobook project. However, I was curious to find out if the individual prices for the photobooks had increased since. And my fears were confirmed! They indeed have! :( Nevertheless, a masterpiece like a photobook is definitely a keepsake worth making. And those with Paypal accounts can opt for that payment option too.

Getting a beautiful photobook done is also a splendid gift idea for that special woman in our lives: Our Mother. From now till 31 May 2008, you can enjoy a 30% off all photobook orders, simply by entering the Coupon Code MDAY30when placing your order. So get started today!

Here’s the loot I got from whatgreatskin.com!

Remember I said I requested for many samples when I made my purchase with them? Well, I didn’t get all of them, but I am still elated, nonetheless…look how generous they were with the samples! Some are even new products that have not been launched in Malaysia yet!

This is definitely a great site to shop for VERY affordable Dermalogica products at a VERY very special price! Yay me!

Celebrate World Book Day with MPH

April 23rd 2008 is World Book Day. And to commemorate this, MPH (both the online store and the brick & mortar store) is having a sale. In fact, the sale has been going on since April 15 and will end May 4 2008. Book lovers can enjoy a discount of 10% on selected book titles, whereas MPH Members will get them at 20% off. At the time of writing, the mphonline.com store has a total of 336 titles of books to choose from!

This year, I have decided to spend more wisely and more vigilantly on books, simply because I have realized that I didn’t fully utilize my book relief allocation to offset my taxable income last year. Buying books to satisfy the reader in me is definitely way better than paying taxes, and if I can reduce the tax I pay by doing so, however little that may be, it sure seems like a good idea to get those books!

By the way, mphonline.com has revised its free shipping policy. The last time I shopped there, I got free shipping on a minimum purchase of RM80, but the minimum purchase for free shipping is now RM100. Still all right, I suppose, because the books are delivered right to your door step.

Oh yeah, and while you’re at it, don’t forget to check out the exclusive 30% off Click n Save section for selected titles.
